This is beautiful! I have actually never watched or read A Christmas Carol (I know, I know, I’ve been living under a rock), but this really did make me want to read it. Your dad sounds like a very special person. I live in Texas and I know so many older folks that fit this description, it was nice to read something that talks about folks like that with empathy and insight, while also acknowledging the frustration of seeing someone cling to political beliefs that are so at odds with he way they live their life in practice.
